Dear Member,

First up, let me thank the many people who kindly responded to my marital problems blog last week! You concluded my beloved was wrong in vetoing my buying a used Toyota Prius because of the recalls. The result was 59% in favour of buying one and most people thought Toyota’s depth of quality in manufacturing will mean it will overcome its present woes.

In fact this survey was so successful I think I’ll ask you all to sort out some more family problems. Why is it that whenever my wife and I…? Actually better not as one of these days my beloved’s going to read one of these.

Right, our professional sectors launch has had a lot of great feedback and thanks to some IT gizzmology here I can see which Sectors and Forums you are opting for. Out of the Professional Sectors it’s Supply Chain in the lead, as you might expect as it covers loads of Forums, with Transport Planning and Rail following closely behind. Now this is rather interesting for me as it means my aim for CAB and Focus of ensuring that supply chain, transport planning and passenger transport are all represented is so far fitting in nicely with the profile of your interests we’re building up.

For the Forums, after the Freight Transport Forum - which again sucks up a lot of disciplines- it’s a real dead heat between Operations Management, Local Transport and Transport Planning. Supply Chain Inventory management completes the top 5 so far and if you are curious Travel Planning and Warehouse Management systems are hot on their tails........more
